WHy Ebenezer?

Short Biblical Story: Based on biblical chronology, the Israelites had been out of Egypt for approximately 350 to 360 years when the miracle at Mizpah occurred. According to biblical accounts and historical context, the Israelites were primarily oppressed by the Philistines during this era due to a recurring cycle of spiritual and leadership decline.

When the Israelites repented after years of Philistine oppression, their enemies launched a surprise attack on their worship gathering at Mizpah. In response to the prohept Samuel's prayer, God sent a mighty thunder that threw the Philistines into panic and gave Israel a miraculous victory.

Afterwards, Samuel set up a commemorative stone, naming it Ebenezer, or "Stone of Help," declaring, "Thus far the Lord has helped us." This victory at Mizpah was a turning point, effectively restoring Israel’s sovereignty just before they transitioned to having a king; Saul and later King David.

This company has been a stone of help for many including the founder, and the name Ebenezer honors the one we have llaid our foundation in: God.

A Physical Reminder: Every time an Israelite passed by the stone, they were reminded that their victory was not due to their own strength but to God’s supernatural intervention.

A Symbol of Hope: The phrase "Thus far the Lord has helped us" acknowledged past grace while implying that God would continue to help them in the future if they remained faithful.
