RYSE Counseling & Consulting, PLLC provides trauma-informed, culturally responsive therapy and consulting services that help people move from survival mode to sustainable wellbeing.
Currently offering virtual therapy for Illinois residents and consulting nationwide.
RYSE Counseling & Consulting was created from a deep belief: when people are given safe, affirming spaces to heal, they don’t just recover — they rise. Monica Smith, LCSW, combines clinical expertise, lived experience, and community-centered practice to support healing that honors the whole person.
RYSE serves adolescents, adults, and families of all genders, races, and identities. Care is trauma-informed, culturally responsive, and faith-sensitive (but never pressure-driven).
Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Licensed Professional Educator (School Social Worker), mental wellness advocate, and founder of RYSE Counseling & Consulting, PLLC. Monica’s work centers women, families, and communities who have had to be strong for too long — and are now ready to heal, be held, and be seen.
RYSE blends clinical therapy with education, training, and empowerment-focused consulting. While therapy is currently operating from a waitlist, Monica remains active in community healing work.
To protect the quality of care while RYSE grows, Monica is limiting her active caseload and accepting new therapy clients through a waitlist only.
Sessions are 100% virtual at this time and available to Illinois residents only. Speaking, groups, workshops, and consulting services are available more broadly.
Join the Therapy WaitlistIn addition to clinical and community work, Monica helps heart-centered entrepreneurs, therapists, churches, and small teams use AI wisely — so you can serve more people without burning out.
Together, we’ll map your workflows, identify bottlenecks, and build AI-powered systems that still feel like you and honor the dignity of the people you serve.
You don’t have to be “techy” — we’ll build simple, repeatable systems and show you how to keep them running long after our work together.

“I came in overwhelmed and stuck in survival mode. I left feeling seen, heard, and with clear steps to move forward.”
RYSE partners with schools, churches, nonprofits, and community-based organizations to design restorative, trauma-informed programming.
If you’re seeking a speaker, workshop facilitator, or consultant who brings both clinical expertise and lived experience, RYSE can help you build spaces where people can heal and thrive.
